Our Services

Emergency cardiac care unit and Acute Stroke care unit

The emergency cardiac care unit at Aster MIMS Kottakkal Provides the best treatment for Cardiac Emergencies. Early diagnosis and treatment are critical to saving lives during cardiac emergencies. Rapidly identify patients with STEMI (Myocardial infarction) and quickly determine the risk/benefit of reperfusion therapy, and it reduces door to balloon or needle time. Optimally performed primary PCI (Percutaneous coronary intervention) is the preferred perfusion strategy over fibrinolytic administration. The cardiac care unit (CCU) specialized in treating acute cardiac conditions requiring round-the-clock monitoring and specialized cardiovascular treatment. In addition to cardiovascular disease, we care for other chronic health issues that need management.

The Stroke care unit is the first dedicated department in the Malappuram to provide the most comprehensive stroke care. The identification and initial management of patients with acute stroke are crucial as the victim loses 2 million nerve cells every minute if they don’t receive medical treatment during a stroke. The IV fibrinolytic treatment should be provided as early as possible, generally within 3-4.5 hours of the onset of symptoms. The facility offers fibrinolytic administration and endovascular therapy to appropriate candidates. It also carries a continuous care program for life after stroke, including a vascular risk reduction clinic and integrated stroke rehabilitation. Using the most modern facilities for imaging, learned expertise, and skill mix, the team uses the best evidence-based methodologies and most current approaches to managing stroke.
